Making your own soymilk is not very difficult but the dried soybeans needs time to soak in the water. This soymilk is unsweetened, if you want to have a sweeter soymilk you can at 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon sweetener to the milk.
For about 500 ml.
- 85 grams dried soybeans
- 600 ml boiling water
- 500 ml cold water
Cover the soybeans with the boiling water and let it soak for at least 12 hours (replace the water at least once, cold water is fine).
Drain and rinse the soybeans in cold water and put them into a blender with the 500 ml cold water. Puree until smooth, sieve through a cheesecloth and push the milk out.
Puree again in the blender and put it into a pan, let it gently cook for about 20 minutes (stirring occasionally) and let it cool.
Keep the milk in the refrigerator in a closed bottle, it will be good for a few days. It’s normal that the milk will curdle, so stir the milk before you use it.
